that is really sad. i started in the VA system as a GS9/11/12 intern as a contracting officer. all contracting officer positions should start at no less than a GS9.

I can see why TSA only has so many empty spots for contracting officers. At GS-7 pay you will have to live with your parents and/or go on food-stamps. That is the same pay grade as an administrative assistant.
