A prime example of over-reaction and injustice is the Hispanic agreement in the U.S. Forest Service, Region 5. The courts in California found them guilty of not meeting the agreement, and they are still in non-compliance because they do not have a representative number of Hispanics employed; percentage of Hispanics in the state as opposed to the percentage employed by the Forest Service. They have done everything but turn flip flops to recruit all minorities, but I am not sure if Hispanics are really a minority in California, especially if you consider the number of illegal immigrants. Of course they didn't consider that many areas in southern California are very sparsely populated. In fact, most Hispanics that are qualified do not want to be isolated in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of gringos.

Sorry, the NHLA should have done its homework before they asked the question. Had it done so, it would have come to the same conclusion and saved itself some embarrassment. But why should logical and scientific analysis get in the way? Let's not confuse the issue with the facts. Let's find flaw with the "gold standard" of review and analysis and keep throwing red herrings at the federal government and the taxpayers.

Which Hispanics? According to recent studies, there are about (26) different groups claiming Spanish genes. Sadly, not even counting the illegal immigrants, most legal residents and citizens tend to have poorer academic credentials than other ethnic groups. Is it any wonder that they can't qualify for mid-level federal jobs? Maybe they should place the blame on themselves, and not demand that the federal government give them things for which they aren't qualified.

Well, that's what the Hispanic Coalition gets for being diligent about the numbers and the "research" they were spewing. They get no sympathy for me. And, they've now managed to tick off pretty much everyone. Nice PR move, guys.
