Pay extra for something that should be included in the existing health plans -- baloney! Give the government workers the same health care plan that Dubya has.

Forget the deductibles ... this articled failed to even mention how much these plans are going to likely cost the employee on a monthly basis. Don't know yet but I'll guess the majority of people will not be able to afford the option to enroll in most if not any of the plans. Also, what percentage of coverage do these plans provide/not provide?
If I can be provided with 80 percent to 100 percent coverage for myself and family for $50 a month, I would be satisfied. After all, my contractor pod-mate gets 80 percent coverage through his company for himself and his family for about $12 a payday ($24 a month), with no deductibles just a $20 co-pay. The Defense Department is a much larger employer; however, the problem is Uncle Sam will not pay a dime into the benefit.
Let's wait and see if I will I be surprised or not?

Somehow I don't think they're going to get the enrollment in this that they think they are. Requiring an employee to pay for something that should be provided as a paid benefit does nothing to make a government employee a happy camper.

"The benefits are not subsidized by the government." Okay, I'm wondering if Mr. Edwards of the distinguished Cato Institute will use these self-funded and participatory group benefits as ammunition for his next denunciation of the supposedly bloated federal employee.
Tip off.
