That 2 percent of GDP would be great if it was total -- and not just one year. Two percent per year comes to 100 percent in about 50 years, even if you don't count the interest on top of it.
There is a great question in my mind about why our Congress bothers with a spending cap if they are allowed to raise it every time their spending reaches the cap. A cap on something is supposed to be an upper limit that cannot be exceeded! Let's put a spending cap into the Constitution so that it can't be changed every time Congress overspends by spending billions for items that are for local areas or special interest groups and not for the best interests of the majority of U.S. citizens.
