Is there a shake-up at FPS? Wendell Shingler, director of FPS, has been appointed the acting executive director of the ICE National Incident Response Unit. Assistant Director Durette has been named Acting Director of FPS. More moves are expected.

Your account of FPS and its mission is not entirely correct. FPS is not just an "account receivable" agency. In fact this is the first time I ever heard that term in my nearly 10 years of service with the agency. For starters, FPS was mandated by Congress many years ago to police and protect federal buildings. How do we do this? Through proactive uniformed police patrols, criminal investigations by our uniformed police officers, inspectors and criminal Investigators. Contracting security guards and monitoring services is only one portion of our daily work.
