Maybe it would be cheaper to offer a million-dollar reward for the return of the stolen computer and, maybe, another million for the head (preferably, only the head) of the guy that took it.
With the Congress getting involved, I think that we can be more confident that the solution to the problem will be twice as expensive as it would have been otherwise. Plus, it will never really solve the problem that led to the security breach -- a lack of skilled management at various levels causing a gradual breakdown of the system.
Our leaders need to realize that this was just a cough and the illness in the government is just getting started.
