So, will states that issue 5-10 year licenses have to re-issue them all in 2008? My license is up this year and the new one will be good for 10 years? Will I have to get another new one if I plan to travel, open a bank account, or just cash a check after 2008? Will I have to carry my passport with me at all times or will it conform with the new standards? What happened to the constitutionally guaranteed right of travel (not to mention everything else) within the United States? We're getting closer and closer to that National ID card or (for all you sci-fi fans) ID implants.
