Twenty-one percent to 24 percent per collection????? How's that more cost effective than having a bunch of GS-5s do their job? But then, no one said this was supposed to be like any other outsourcing project did they? They just want to give away government jobs so that hard-working people have to go begging.

The Selling of America, Part II: This sad story reminds me of a scandal that occurred a couple of years ago. It seems that a private company was retained to install and maintain the 1984ish red light cameras at intersections. When the cameras were checked, it was discovered that the company, which got part of the fines had re-timed the yellow light interval so that the light turned red faster! Just one more example of so-called private industry doing its bit. Why is this relevant? Simply because any profit-driven company can, and probably will alter the data re debt collection eventually to get a larger slice of the taxpayer pie. The NTEU is right, we cannot let our government be sold off piece by piece to private, greedy interests.
