Since the FBI has the war on terrorism well in hand, let's bring back the U.S. Customs Service, which was sacrificed after 9/11 to form CBP and ICE under DHS. DHS has no real role in the war on terrorism, which is so ably handled by the FBI and CIA, so it's time to abolish this bureaucratic behemoth, which has done nothing but rearrange a bunch of agencies on the organizational chart, at the cost of billions of taxpayer dollars, to no good purpose!

Sounds like taxpayer is a liberal communist. Support your government. Your civil liberties are not in jeopardy. The security of the United States is better today than prior to 9/11. You need to see the big picture. Get rid of what we have now would open the doors to another attack.

By this reply I probably go on the FBI watch list! However:
The Patriot Act is not a protection of civil rights, it takes away civil rights so law enforcement has the power to override any of our long established protections. Hitler did this in the late 1930's to "protect" the German people. That fostered the power of the SS and the Patriot Act fosters the power of the FBI and Homeland Security. The words are great but the concepts are totally wrong! Why did we fight World War II to allow this stuff to go on today as if it is new and never happened in the past? We have ample evidence that this law enforcement over all to protect us is wrong and should be eliminated. The chamber should continue its opposition of the act and so should everyone else.
