This is in response to the request for articles on disability retirement. That is a very good topic to discuss for one of my future columns. I am not an OPM representative. GovExec.com has provided me the freedom to write on any retirement-related topic that I deem relevant to the readers of this newsletter. Thanks for your suggestion.

Information about retirement planning should be very helpful. But, keep in mind that the information in this column will most likely reflect OPM rhetoric and should not be considered as gospel. There seems to be no reference to Federal Disability Retirement or Federal Employees' Workers Compensation. Both programs are, for many federal workers, a form of retirement. They are also the greatest nightmare a federal worker will ever face if they are injured on the job.
So, is the GovExec.com retirement column going to relate to the entire picture or just the pretty parts? Are the ugly parts going to be too politically incorrect to discuss?
