That's a no-brainer. Ft. Lauderdale is in Florida, governed by Bush's brother. 'Nuff said?

I am still not clear on this: How could San Diego which is a major metropolis close to an even bigger one, a border town, a military center with lots of brass and bases, with a major international airport, and down the road from a major nuclear power plant, not be eligible for Homeland Security dollars while Fort Lauderdale is. Strange, very strange.

"I have to be very clear about this," Chertoff added. "The purpose of the UASI program - indeed, the purpose of all Homeland Security funding - is not to generate popularity for the secretary or for the Department of Homeland Security. It is to address the highest priorities driven by an analytic, risk-based process."
This is good entertainment! I thought some of the priorities included infrastructure requisites such as high speed communications and equipment to perform operations in the field -- not throwing money around to be spent foolishly on wide screen plasma TV's and CNN so we can all catch up on the latest news and information we can't get from the "Puzzle Palace!"

Read This: Some years ago, a couple of NYC cops were directed to Central Park, where an old man was throwing bits of colored paper into the wind. When asked why he was doing it, he said: "Because it keeps the elephants away." Of course, they replied that there were no elephants in sight, and he replied: "See, it works"! Only NYC, the Pentagon, and a small field in the Northeast have had terrorist attacks. All the rest is pork, pork, and more pork. Any public official complaining about the overdue redistribution of 9/11 money without due cause should be fired!!
