I'm really surprised that Mr. Bloch still has a job as Special Counsel given the level of embarrassment of the whistleblower protector with these many allegations. But then again, with these many embarrassments over the last few months, this one may not even be on the White House radar screen.
The fact that Mr. Bloch still has this job speaks volumes about how important this issue is to the current administration. I'm sure the President can give Scott a nice pat on the back and say, "Good job, Blochie."

RDS, I'm just taking a guess here, but I'll bet you're not Republican?

OSC was never well-managed to begin with. It always seemed more intent on quietly dispensing with complaints of harassment and retaliation. The only time they took significant action was if the violations of employee rights received a lot of outside attention.
There have been a lot of supervisors who never received the disciplinary action they deserved. Consequently, OSC isn't considered to be unbiased and federal workers still feel vulnerable. Ironically, the most abusive supervisors are often the least productive. They bully the workers to cover up for their inadequacies. Imagine how much more efficient the government would be if OSC actually took action to remove abusive supervisors from their positions?

How will the Bush administration cover up this one? Well, I guess they can blame Bill Clinton. How about the liberal media? Maybe the nightly news, they are always easy to blame. Oh, I have it, it was Dan Rather. Then there is always the disgruntled federal employee. There is an endless supply of excuses they can use.
How about the truth, I wonder if they ever thought of that one?
