As a former DoD employee who was named "Outstanding Personnel of the Year," for saving billions and then was fired for exposing faulty wiring in Air Force One, I can only say, enough. How many have to take the plunge and fall on their swords? We as a nation should be ashamed. We have seen hundreds of true patriots snuffed out for trying to protect us. This is a national disgrace that we need to change. The first whistleblower was Mordecai from the Bible we swear to in court (The Book of Esther, Chapter 6, verse 1) "Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this." There needs to be a whistleblower's Congress formed. A march on Washington by Serpico, Ernie Fitzgerald, etc. is needed to bring national attention, before it is too late.

It is shameful to have government personnel be subjected to "whistleblower" protection when they simply are telling the truth. Why are leaders in government so afraid of truth telling? Is it because they are breaking the law or covering up potential disasters?

The process is a long, risky, extremely worthless and frustrating endeavor. The Office of the Special Counsel is a hollow bureaucracy without direction, sense of purpose, or sufficient protections. I would never blow the whistle and I would advise all other federal employees whom I have known or will know not to consider whistleblowing actions. Whistleblowing is a faux pas. It always has been a charade and always will be a charade. The process does create a lot of jobs though.
