What are the rates?

What is the approximate cost per month for this coverage? I do not currently have health insurance under the federal government. I have health insurance through my late husband's company. Under these circumstances would I be eligible to sign up for this insurance.

Are these so called insurance plan negotiators political appointees, or civil servants? I figure they must be "appointees"; it would be difficult even for an incompetent civil servant to negotiate such poor plans! Why do we have to pay 100 percent with no "employer" contribution? With the number of employees in the Plans (in FEHBP); how can OPM do such a really poor job? Any way to get OPM on pay-for-performance before it starts Dental and Vision negotiations?
Is GAO looking into OPM? There must be ample opportunities for audits. I have zilch confidence in OPM! Maybe that is why Bush is so eager to screw Civil Service workers, if all he sees are OPM folks fumbling with our health plans? Does anyone have a real reason why Dental and Vision cannot be part of existing plans? Why another deductible? My FEHBP provider should be paying me to take his plan! Health Insurance Poor.

I'm disappointed this is the best OPM can do. More deductibles? I keep telling friends what's the point of insurance? If we went with preventative care, the governments (and our own) would be lower.

What burns me is that all of my family and friends have really good dental insurance attatched to their health insurance, and pay little or no premiums towards this feature. Right now, the only option for us is GEHA, and they are $90 per month, and still don't cover much on braces or things like root canals and caps. This is in addition to their one year and two year waiting periods for these items! SHHEEEESHH!!! We are better off putting stuff in an FSA and then using it to pay for these items.

Did I read the co-pay and deductible words correctly. Seems like I read that before. The OPM folks must have received co-pays and deductibles that are too low. Don't worry they will get them as high as they can.
Another bad day for OPM (as usual) and as always the Federal civil servants.

It is my opinion that this needs to be a top prority. At the present time we the Federal Employee have litlle if any program that is worth a penney. To have my two teenage daughters' teeth cleaned it cost me over $200 out of my pocket. Just SAD!

So? These plans are a joke anyway - the Government is doing a lot of dirty back-room deals with sham insurance companies to steal even more from the workers. The health plans available to employees are so bad that they no longer offer much in the dental or vision care areas. My guess is that even though premiums are going up 10% next year, the FEHB plans will be cut further in these areas. When will it stop?
