US Customs Senior Inspector (Retired) - well said. Unfortunately, common sense and reasoned appeals fall on far too many deaf ears in here. Most are far more interested in simply venting. But, if it keeps even one of them from "going postal," I guess it serves a purpose...

Stop the "blame game" for just a minute...The ONLY real issue w/New Orleans is should it be re-built at all. The city is sinking slowly into the mud, is artificially protected by inadequate levees, and is environmentally dead. Now, let's stop all the flag-waving and brave nonsense (like post 9/11)and try to decide what's best for our country, not for the dispersed citizens of one US city. Hopefully, many of them will be able to re-locate elsewhere. But to spend billions of dollars to re-create the past is insane. Help our fellow Americans, but stop and think about it first!

Chris, you obviously need to cut back on the caffeine. Either that, or you need some professional help. Your ranting doesn't even make sense.
Take a Valium already, and get some rest, you really need it.

This is the goal of all of the "efforts"...to FEDERALIZE cities...which will now be LEGALLY UNABLE to extricate itself from the clutches of the Federal Government...this goal was and is the goal of socialists and MEGALOMANIAC politicians who hate soveriegn states(10th Amendment) and local government and want to emulate Soviet Russia and its soviets...
