I just love when they start talking about saving a billion here and a couple billion there. Has anyone ever heard of the government telling you they did the math and the savings were not there? Of course not.
They could say they will save a trillion and who could or would care. The savings will not be there and the contracting will continue until there are zero civil servants left to do the work.
That is when King George will be the happiest.

The sad truth is that the incompetent bureaucrats that have repeatedly failed to modernize Flight Service will retain their jobs and benefits. Marion and Jane bear full responsibility for this failure. They will never be punished for their part in this travesty. On the other-hand Lockheed's proposal would fail if none of the Flight Service specialist sought employment with the new LMAFSS organization.

Ms. Kansier is off the mark again. Her statement "the transfer of work on Oct. 4th would represent a tremendous victory for us all," is typical of the upper management the Federal Aviation Administration employs.
How can someone in her position be so excited about putting hundreds of employees on the street without a pension or health insurance? Basically, she does not care! As long as her office and the FAA continue to receive "green lights" from the White House, who cares about hundreds of employees, their families, and their futures.
Sometime in 2006, Lockheed Martin will release hundreds of dedicated men and women from the work roles, all under the guise of saving the taxpayers millions of dollars. The FAA has used fuzzy math for years, just research the deployment of the STARS system, which some indications are one billion dollars above original estimates. The STARS program has also been placed on the Inspector General's watch list. Why the media continues to believe anyone associated with the FAA is beyond me.
Employees such as Kansier are continually allowed to make decisions, which affect taxpayers, but in the end cost us more. When will the taxpayers call their Congressional Representatives and demand accountability for the incompetence of these Federal Agencies? Let's outsource FAA Headquarters, save the taxpayers billions and raise the collective Washington, DC intelligence quotient.
