Folks, it's not about me, but rather you, I think. This whining is not about pay raises for the military, but rather the civilian side being upset about not receiving the same as the military. Were you demanding the same benefit for the families of military personnel who died in the Pentagon, as those for the victims' survivors who died in the towers? Oh, I bet you didn't because they wore a military uniform so their dying was less traumatic on their familiies, right? Maybe it was because they were expected to die as a member of the military, right? You will never see the day you are entitled to the same pay raise as a military person. Who do you think you are? GET OVER IT. By the way, what do all of you analysts do? Every posting on here is signed by some sort of an analyst. Is that a file clerk or what?

Dear Charlie,
Don't worry-- if the President gets his way you won't have to desert the Democratic Party-- we will have only one Political Party and you will need to get a Party card and be a good loyal member before getting your VA benefits and every other benefit from Uncle Sam, or should I say Comrad Sam. :-)
Comrad Putin is fighting to create a one party system in Russia and to eliminate dissent. And our President has seen into Putin's soul and they are best friends. Makes sense to me.

"The VA is over $1 billion short and these idiots want to hand out fat pay increases to civilian workers, most of whom never wore a military uniform in their life."
Hey Charlie, so what? Being in the military is not the end all be all of entitlements. Thanks for your service, BUT, current and former military are not better than civilians.
Contrary to your idea, it's a job choice, not a measurement of worthiness. Some chose the military, some chose civilian careers.
GET OVER YOURSELF!

Man, I love this whining. If George Bush keeps up what he is doing, I have no doubt that by next election, I will have deserted the democratic party and will be a full-fledged republican. The VA is over $1 billion short and these idiots want to hand out fat pay increases to civilian workers, most of whom never wore a military uniform in their life. It is the same old thing of taking it off the veteran's back and their families, and giving it to some 8 hour a day (very unusual if they work that long) civilian worker. They don't deserve it.

Dear "This man is determined . . . .",
Sounds like a peach of an idea!

Good- let him Veto the bill because Congress is trying to stop a runaway train from flying off the bridge. He wants to Veto a bill to stop Civil Service employees from getting 3.1 instead of 2.6-- equally good. He wants to Veto a bill telling the President he can't change 27 years of federal civil service rules immediately-- equally good. Let the president throw his temper tantrum at this bill. Let the American people see the pettiness of all of this right before the 2006 congressional elections. GOP-- Grand Old Pettiness.
I'm so looking forward to watching senior Republicans in the House and Senate defend their inability to reach compromise on the really important stuff and defending an administration sole bent on getting its way at any cost. To my Republican friends on Capitol Hill-- that cost is going to be very high and you are going to pay for it.

This man is determined to ruin civil servants' lives. He wants to destroy over 50 years of progress. And he wants to do it now, he will be very happy to destroy all of these peoples lives. Even those who agree with him, they will be destroyed too.
How about the "I" word, anyone interested?
