Why isn't anyone in jail or fired? This is why taxpayers have such a dim view of the government--there are no consequences for any wrongdoing. The more I learn about the government and its inability to govern, the more disgusted I get.

Concerning Everglades restoration-the Corps is out of control! In the early 1960s the Corps stopped overland flow of water in the Everglades watershed and has been extorting money from the federal government to "fix" the problem they themsleves created ever since. The project that was supposed to restore overland flow of water to Everglades National Park, authorized by legislation passed in 1989 (PL 101-229), the Modified Water Delivery Project, was supposed to cost $80 million and was supposed to be completed by 1997. That was 8 years and $300 million dollars ago with no end in sight. What a mess! mfortin
