'seeks' and 'might' are really precious, but how about DO IT NOW? These illegals are to the canadian border in our country; in my small northern town, I noticed 3 begging and harassing customers for money outside the supermarket. Let's open the northern border's exit so they can all go to canada.

What's wrong with US citizens?? If you come home from a party, and one of your neighbors called the fire department because your house was ablaze, would you complain? Or someone saw a burgler breaking into your house while you were on vacation...Stop the 'vigilante' 1970s nonsense. This huge nation, still the #1 in the world, is stricken with the classic symptoms of decay and rot, namely, that we are wrong, and Europe, the Orient, and the Middle East are spiritually and morally superior. Just look at recent history in those areas for the past two thousand years or so, and realize that we might, but don't necessarily have to go the way of previous empires, 'cause we're not an empire, but a representative republic, if we can keep it like old B. Franklin once observed.

Citizen patrols, it conjures up visions of the great comic classic movie, "The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming".

We have had many ridiculous expenditures couched under the banner of security from terror! The TSA is a prime example. Now we have a border problem (this has been true for many years)that needs immediate action. The citizen volunteers are a tempory measure. This is a job for the national guard of those states that have borders with Mexico and Canada. Guardsmen should be patrolling the borders and not have the government hiring more border patrol agents to patrol! The existing agents could roundup the illegals caught by the guardsmen. Why should we taxpayers pay for the guard and the border patrol when we could get by with only one group! Non-border state guards could supplement the border states to achieve a constant patrol along the borders.
Congress also needs to require states to provide lists of illegals that receive drivers licenses and not outlaw drivers licenses. The ICE should roundup the illegals and deport them. Outlawing drivers licenses only will result in illegals drving without licenses. Something they already to because I was hit by one while he was driving drunk - he got 11 months and was released each day to go to work. This was his third DUI and he was driving without a license and had no insurance. I think he should have been deported after serving 2 years without work release. The courts gave this guy free room and board for 11 months while he went to work every day and thumbed his nose at the USA and its laws.

It appears that Washington is much more concerned with protecting illegal activity of foreigners than they are of American's welfare. We need to close the borders, not close much-needed bases, and, deport those not here legally. It would save a whole lot more money!!!! The Minuteman Project has already embarassed the Administration, and Congress, by showing how to effectively close our borders. This is a golden opportunity to do something that makes sense. . .by using Volunteers and/or the Military. Our Military is protecting Iraq's and Afganistan's borders and they can damn well do it here. Be advised that this will be a MAJOR issue in '08!! They can ignore it all they want, but it AIN'T gonna go away!!!!
