Fort ZOrd had a serious problem with Meninjitis, I did not volentiere, but involved in a trial study to overt this. I got sick with there injections & sugar cubes. I went into the hospitol there, my father died and I was allowed to go home for his service. While home in Porterville CaI went to see my childhood doctor. I was told I had Phenomia. On my pre induction Physical it shoued symtoms of MS. I have the type that is like a roller coaster. I had no idea what was wrong entil I lost my vision. I am house bound & still waiting on a decision on my case with the VA. I need Help.

Went into the Army in 1991, got all the Mega shots and then when I started the flu shot, which I never had till the Army, I became very ill for months after each time.I became symptomatic in Germany with MS symptoms and the Army put me into therapy-mental health! It was not till I developed a HUGE eye ache that at West Point in 1998, my doc refused to send me back to mental health and did an MRI of my head-the rest is a sad history.
I have held the opinion that the Flu Shot had something to do with it. A friend that has heard me rant about the flu shot sent me this story and it all makes sense now. It has challenged my life in so many ways, but the "wondering why is the worse-I now know "why" whether the government wants to admit to it or not. I loved the Army(NCO), was very good at my job, and going up, would be retiring this next year had the "wonderful world" of medicine not stolen it all away. I wish the Government would really make a great effort to find those like me-but they are happy to give 30% and let us go.
My biggest fear is this O'Bama health care plan that places value on people as to thier "value" to a society. I may be one of the first to go huh? I mean I have already been "defined" by the Military and the Social security as "unfit". Kinda scarie to me. God "help" us that served the country and were victomized as well by that same country.

Had anthrax vaccines in 2002-4, awful reaction. Also had small pox vaccines and a horrible reaction to that too. it nearly destroyed my skin! For the last 5 years have had problems with muscle spasms, stiffness and pain. weird headaches, bowel problems, dizziness and running into things.tingling and numbness in my hands and feet. Sometimes i feel as if im going to have a seisure or explode or somthing. Have started seeing a neurologist and I am awaiting some answers next week. No one can be in this much pain and have this many problems and still be normal. This is not just in my head!

I read the potential causes of MS. I too have this disorder. I was diagnosis in 2006. I was in the military for two seperate tours. The first was reserve in 1976 to 1979 and then active duty during 1987 to 1992 in which I had also taken the innoculations that the military required. I was part of the first Gulf War. I began experiencing symptoms of tightness around my chest, numbness, weakness, and fellings of overheating during this time (1993 to current and now even more after being finally diagnosed with MS. Yet I attempted to filed a claim with the military for benefits related to MS and was denied because it was said I was diagnoised after 7 years of my ETS date, October 1992. I had a 7 year window to be diagnosis in which I did not know about and had no idea I had MS accumulating. Nevertheless, since then I have graduated, with a bachelors degree and worked prior to ever knowing the symptoms were MS in a Military Hospital in Washington State. Due to the diagnosis, I am currently medically (verbally) retired from a VA hospital here in Florida, an ugly story. Many mistake some of MS victims as a Cognitive disorder. This is not true for all such as myself. I was hired as a qualified individual with a disability an given a rating of the 2nd highest rating during my time with this VA facility after a two year required probation period for nurses. VA status is pending my claim for MS after a denial(in which they written I have the disease yet my primary care failed to state where she got her information from (Military Primary Care Physician). I am pending an appeal in Washington, DC because I feel as Montel Williams, who currently works with his MS, and Neal Cavuto (?) of Fox News and others that my MS could have been accommodated and this pain and suffering with punitive damages could have been eliminated. I was rehabilitated under Chapter 31 of the Veteran Administration, an a single parent and only enjoyed the Nursing position for two years + before ever knowing I had MS. I was put out of a job in November of 2007. It may be too late for me, since I have stressed and fought so hard for my rights, but I feel that many need to know that MS does not mean Must Stop, especially for some of us, but we Must Succeed so others can study and learn the truth about this unpredictable condition as any other illiness. My husband was recently diagnosed with MS, he had the all the above mentioned vaccines in October 2003 before his deployment to Iraq. Last October after returning to "normal" duty after recruiting he passed out during pt, followed by slurred speech, and writing trouble he had an MRI. It took him 5 months for the full diagnosis of MS being he had to have more than one spot. We have done the MEB and were offered 30% which is nothing, and are now awaiting his formal appeal. My husband is 27 years old, with no normal signs of MS,aka no family history, race backgroud, and he is from El Paso so he has not moved from hot to cold. The army is saying he has a service connected illness or injury but still they are offering him nothing, and the VA the same.

I;m 31 years old, had the Anthrax Vaccine in 2000, a few years later I lost my site in my left eye, this MS has progress so wuickly until my life is totally changed, I'm to the place that I need help to dress. My memory is not sharp as it use to be. What's worst, I can't find a job to take care of my family and the military is denying this is cost by the Anthrax Vaccine I was forced to take.
The victims need help. Morally and financial

I was married for 5 months drafted in 1970. I went to Fort Ord for basic training. Fort Ord had a problem with Meninjitis and way involved in a program to find or overt the disease. I went into the Fort Ord Hospital. My father died ,Iwas allowed to go and attend his service. While home I went to see my family doctor and was told I had pneumonia. I received orders for Fort Knox, Ky. I checked into the Hospital there. I have MS and doctors say I have since I was in the Army. I just had a second C&P exam. The first one concluded that I have MS because I smoke and drank alcohol, and smoked marijuana one time. My claim has been open for over ten years.
Can you please help me in supporting my claim?
Thank you.

US. Army 2000-2004. Received Anthrax and Small Pox like you all did during those years. 2005 felt dizzy and passed out a few times, DR's had no idea why. Recently developed Optic Neuritis, and then finally MS. Very bad memory, color blindness.
I hope that more and more people will post and find out if these shots during these years caused this....

My husband is active AirForce. He was given a possible MS recently after having sudden numbness in all limbs, nerve problems with left eye, fatigue, unable to keep attention, etc. He cannot be treated until he has a full diagnosis in which the doctor told us could be 3 months to 2 years due to the fact that he had only one brain lesion. Apparently, you need 2 lesions in the brain for a full diagnosis.
I know he's had these shots as well. It scares me. He was normal...and now he's not!! At 32 its difficult for him to carry on without treatment.

I recieved the first 2 doses of the anthrax vacine, starting in March of 2003 before I could recieve the third I started having symptoms. I was dignosed with MS in April of 2004, I had some symptoms that one might relate to MS before I started recieving the anthrax vaccine (2001). I had no symptoms in 2002, I went through an MEB and becouse I was past the Air Forces magic 8 year point I was allowed to stay on active duty. now here it is 2008 and I am still doing fine but I just hope it stays that way.

I've been to Iraq twice, was vaccinated with the Anthrax Vaccine in March of 2004. Returned from my second tour in Iraq in Nov 2007, by Jan 2008 I had numbness in my mouth and ataxia (trouble walking straight) a brain MRI found lesions on the areas that would cause the symptoms I have. I am awaiting a MEB for MS yet no one in my family has ever had MS before.

I am a member of the Texas Army National Guard. I had started recruiting in October 06 but was then mobilized to go to Iraq in June 07. I received the vaccinations at Fort Dix, to include Anthrax FAV 109. In July I got Optic Neuritis and could barely walk. I got through that and was put on Med Hold and sent home to get further care. Since then I have had two more bouts of Optic Neuritis and lost a lot of vision in left eye. I have nerve pain, numbness, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, and when my body temperature gets higher than normal I am a mush melon. My civilian Neurologist diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis. The Army says I have a conversion disorder. I am currently going through MEB and what appears to be the fight of my life. Prior to the vaccinations, I had been to the doctor three times. Sure seems just a whee bit coincidental.
