It is unfortunate, but reprisal for actions is a major problem within most government agencies. I have been the victim more than once because I am outspoken. Most employees know to keep their mouths shut. The question isn't "have you even been a victim of reprisal?", the question is, "if you were aware of a potentially serious ethical or criminal violation by management, would you report it?" I will continue to try hard to keep my mouth shut, but it gets harder every day.

I wish you guys lots of luck, you are going to need it. Just remember who you're going up against. I can tell you from personal experience that before you are vindicated you will suffer several humiliating defeats. It's going to take strong intestinal fortitude to get through this ordeal. The FBI has suckered the public and congress through their manipulation of the media. The media seems to think that the FBI will not lie to them and prints every peice of trash that comes out of their mouths as if it were fact. Maybe they don't care, because lies can also sell lots of papers. Whatever happens just remember that the United States Attorneys Office is part of the Deparment of Justice, just like the FBI is. Their will be no checks and balances. Congress, who have their own ethical problems, will not side up with you either. If no one got fired over the WMD lies in Iraq, the likelihood is that your legitimate complaints will be brushed aside.
