"Vote the bums out and then you will secure the borders."
If that were the case then we would have seen this issue tackled under the Clinton administration, which rushed in illegals and pushed to grant citizenship to many aliens to generate more votes. Neither party is in favor of securing the borders. When it comes to illegal immigration, Republicans and Democrats are equally useless.

If you secure the borders then the Republican money machine will lose money. That is never going to happen. Open borders is what the Republicans want and that is what they will get.
Vote the bums out and then you will secure the borders.

What's the problem? Simply screen and train the civilians (Minutemen) who have already volunteered to help the Border Patrol protect our borders. The reality is that we will never be able to reduce illegal infiltration of our country without the political and moral backing of the American people. Post 9/11, we cannot allow strangers into our land through the back door. Perhaps illegal aliens could be incarcerated, then sent back, so they would have to pay a penalty for their infiltration, not just a slap on the wrist.

Yes, we need more help in that area. But the powers to be don't want to waste time and money there, when we can send more money across the water defending a country that does not even belong to us. So what do they do, have a BRAC here so they can supposely save money. We should not be closing down any bases in America. We should be closing the ones in other countries. Bring our guys/gals home to secure our borders.
