The "savings" is mostly numbers on paper than tangible money. That's why there has to be another BRAC. There will be another and another until the military cuts enough operating costs.
Our Lawmakers are not helping things by playing politics. They are supposed to be looking out for what is good for the entire country, not just their little piece of it. If other federal employees don't want to see their jobs on the line, they need to tell their Congressional representatives to see that this BRAC is done properly.
The money has to come from somewhere and might as well be from the obsolete, cold war DOD functions.
