The Marshals Service never supported my white a$$ when I got involved in a car chase and shot fired incident back in 1990. In fact I got busted and transferred to another city, among other reasons for having chased and then fired at a man who was not a dangerous fugitive. It was not that much longer after that that Matt Fogg apprehended this very same fugitive and received an award for apprehending this suddenly very dangerous fugitive.
There most certainly are double standards out there.

Mr. Fogg and any other person that sat through the trial knows that Mr. Lloyd is a very lucky man. He recieved a manslaughter sentence when he cleary murdered my son as dozens of whitnesses accounted for.Lloyd is a coward and because the that he got is ass whipped in front of his family he pulled his gun and killed a young, unarmed man.Mr. Helfend and Mr. Fogg are both a discrace to their proffessions and hopfully one day soon they will be dealt with accordingly. I attended graduate school with Mr. Lloyd. I was amazed that he was a law enforcement officer and had a thirst for education. Most people in law enforcement are lowly educated individuals, even the chiefs. While Lloyd was proud to be a marshal, he was not a bully like so many men and women in law enforcement. He always had a smile and a joke for you. I once told him that he didn't seem like the law enforcement type (i.e., he was too smart to be a federal cop). While I don't pretend to know the inner workings of Art's emotional state on the day in question, I believe that if he fired shots at the man trying to run him down he was justified in his actions. Numerous police officers beat Rodney King like a dog, and they were initially acquitted. If Art is guilt of anything it is overreacting. Most cops are insecure little bullies. They always overreact. Maybe Art smiled too much and kept his emotions in check too often. Perhaps he should have exerted himself and puffed out his chest more often like other cops, maybe then he could have vented on innocent citizens on a daily basis to make himself feel important, so instead of shooting the guy in self defense he could have called 100 police officers for back up. The bottom line is this: If Arthur Lloyd was a white male or white female, he would not be in jail. He probably would be hailed as a "hero." If the sailor had been any other race but white Art would not be in jail. The prosecutor just wanted to make an example out of Lloyd. The American Taliban will be out of jail before Arthur will, and that guy should have been executed for treason. Same old story ...racism in the criminal justice system. Art, my prayers are with you! When I find out where you are I will try to come visit you.

Thank you Mr. Fogg for your insight and ability to see what is happening to Arthur Lloyd. I attended the first bond hearing for my uncle, Arthur Lloyd and was disappointed that the State's Attorney, Marshal Service and media painted Art as an awful person. Arthur Lloyd is a great inspirational man. I cannot even consider that a charge of first degree murder was brought for this situation. It is clearly a self-defense case, especially given the intoxication level and previous run-ins with Mr. Stowers.
Certainly no one deserves to die but should Mr. Stowers have been permitted the opportunity to kill my uncle, his family or another citizen if he wasn't stopped that evening? Surely my uncle did not intend to kill anyone when he loaded his wife and five kids in his vehicle to head for the toy store. It's so completely absurd and our hearts continue to hurt as Art remains incarcerated.
The prosecutorial vindictiveness is very apparent.
Again thank you for your response and please continue with your support and prayers.

I worked with Deputy US Marshal Arthur Lloyd for most of his career in our capacities as Federal Marshals and as Inner City School Youth Mentors. The US Marshals Service has attempted to 'Lynch' Marshal Lloyd by not taking a stand and backing one of their own Federal Marshals who was feloniously assaulted, after identifying himself as a US Marshal.
Furthermore, the States Attorney has disgraced the law of integrity by withholding evidence at the BAIL hearing that should have consummated Mr. Lloyds release without any doubts. I have seen where officers kill nonviolent citizens all across America with far less mitigating circumstances of suspects with little or no drugs in their systems and the officers never go to jail pending trial.
So the question one must ask, why are the Feds and the State being so hardline with an outstanding veteran US Marshal who most likely stopped the fatality of another innocent family on America's highways involving the suspect's deadly weapon (Car) if, he had not tried to run over Marshal Lloyd and continue down the highway with a blood-alcohol nearly three times the legal driving limit?
Well, in my expert opinion on law enforcement and Civil Rights matters, I think Marshal Lloyd is the obvious victim of systemic reprisals for having won a major federal Civil Rights lawsuit against the Marshal's office and because, as the prosecutor said during the bail hearing which clearly sent a 'chilling effect' to all other law officers who might consider blowing the whistle on Bigots With Badges - "Marshal Lloyd was known for filing multiple grievances (EO race-discrimination) within his workplace."
No evidence could be more direct to retaliation and those words by a prosecutor at a bond hearing that had nothing to do with EEO grievances. Furthermore, the suspect even stated "I'll kill you" and then drove his car towards the Marshal and his entire family (1-adult, 5-children).
Now today a 25 year career Marshal sits in jail with misrepresented facts obtained from the Marshal's office and Maryland State Prosecutor as reported in the news about an incident where fortunately, Marshal Lloyd may have prevented a major drunk driving fatality and further protected his own family with a loving wife and five children who will all suffer tremendously without his leadership and job income.
