I am intersted in becoming a Federal employee. I do have a learning disability, but I am able to follow directions and I am willing to learn. I have completed some college courses and have clerical experience. Please provide the name and phone number of the coordinator in your agency who process applications for persons with disabilities. I have included my e-mail address above.

I can't believe other people have experienced the same runaround as I have with the "coordinators." You can be transferred to 5 different people who used to be the coordinator for a couple of months. No real effort is being made to hire the disabled

I have been trying to work for the federal government for 2 years. I am well qualified for the vacancies I apply for. I feel as though if I apply under this Schedule A authority it works against me. I have written and called the various OPM departments and have yet to hear back. I am always getting the run around. Even on the OPM website which has a socalled contact person for the Schedule A, the contact is either outdated or the person who's name is on the list has zero idea as what to do or what that is. I am quite disappointed that they have these meetings and conferences stating how the government wants to help disabled people work for the government when it is FALSE. Tell you what I would not mind being that person in charge of this Schedule A appointing authority, I would get the job done.

What makes OPM think that federal agencies want to or will want to select persons with disabilities? Based on my experience of working for the federal gov't while trying to live with severe, chronic depression, it seems to me that what federal agencies want to do is get rid of persons with disabilities rather than bring on additional persons with disabilities. They talk a good game but that's it.

Anybody that would believe the OPM is an idiot. Try being a disabled veteran and submit your paperwork to a government agency. They have no problem in destroying it and then denying it was ever received. If you think this is for real just wait until the real scam comes to the surface. The Department of Labor is a joke when it comes to keeping employment records on disabled veterans. A couple of years ago it was discovered that the DOL had not submitted reports to Congress in five years on disabled vets as it was supposed to do. Don't get your hopes up. The whole damm system is crooked starting with OPM, Merit systems Protection Board and the EEOC. These jokers are concerned only with themselves. The whole damm system should be abolished and "BUSH" needs to get it done.

Thank you! This is a relief and good news!!! It took four years before I was hired, including being on disability. The application process was arduous and time consuming, specifically in getting proof from my physicians and vocational rehabilitation counselors of my bilateral neurosensory profound and severe hearing impairment with a speech impairment. With an intimidating interviewing process, it was never comfortable to encourage other disabled citizens to work for the federal government under the old rule. Now I will spread the word. Shall I say "it's about time!"
