As aformer labor organizer I say good for DHS.Look up under L.E.R.O.F strategy local 1030 in North Bergen NJ is staffed mainly by undocumented workers.THE FBI is covering their butts in order to make cases against afew admittedly bad characters while nationwide scores of unsuspeting contractors are at risk for stiff fines and penalties. My union card has my SSN# on it ,whoose are they using? I say E-VERIFY now before something bad happens on a U.S. base near you.The law is the law.

Dear "A Little Here & There",
Eerie how similar this is to the PATRIOT ACT, isn't it? I wonder how many Republican voters working at/for DHS have willingly signed the nondisclosure document? Surely they will want to support the person they voted for in the recent Presidential election by surrendering a few small freedoms and protections.
I read an article the other day, it was an analogy about the Republican victory (four more Bush years)and a good dog that has taken to killing chickens... something about wiring a dead chicken around the dogs neck so the dog can "enjoy" the smell and Republican voters (actually, all Americans) getting to enjoy a Republican driven agenda for another four years. I guess this is the first of many things we will all get to enjoy - Heck, just think of it, the next four years haven't even started yet!

Search your home! Search your car! Tap your own phone! God save America. Is Usama hiding in an employee's living room? God bless the unions.
I cannot wait for some union-hating scab to write to complain about the unions.

The most shocking part of this story is not that DHS has put in place a gag order against its employees- that is to be expected by an administration that cares not one iota about civil liberties. What is shocking is that it is the Unions raising this issue and they seem to be a lone voice in the wilderness.
I was extremely disturbed to see no civil rights ripple when 2,000 New Yorkers were illegally arrested in Manhattan during the Republican Convention.
Joan Baez sang a song in the 1960s that every generation has to fight for its freedom. This generation is coasting and I hope it wakes up before the cost of the next fight for freedom becomes very, very steep.
A little here, a little there and soon those folks who want to stop the messiness of democracy will win. Don't think brownshirts and a burning Reichstag can't happen in America.
