Newton's claim of not being told about plane attacks is an attempt on his part to avoid the fact that he cannot protect the Pentagon! He is in charge why does someone else have to tell him anything. Just in case Newton, I can walk up to the building and throw any kind of bomb at it I desire. Why let people within arm throwing distance? Didn't anyone tell you people may throw a bomb? I can setup a mortor and lob shells at the building - what you doing to prevent that? What about an employee becoming a human bomb? What about the reams of paper stored around the building - they may contain bombs or incendiary devices. Does someone have to tell the person in charge of security of these things before they can think? Even if Newton had been told, he would claim that there was no training on what to do if a plane hit the building. Guys like this should not be in charge!
