One more reason to bring back the Draft! 18 - 26 yrs old, 3 years obligated service, computer picks names for any branch of the service and a variety of Homeland Security/Citizen Corps positions (including TSA). If you get chosen for a Homeland Security position instead of the military, you go where they need you - you get trained before you go. You serve your country and if you decide to get out after 3 years, you get benefits just like the service people do. If you decide to stay in, you can cross over to another area and become a career person, advancing up the ranks as a GS person... If we can use National Guard people on the front lines in Iraq, then we can bring people off the street and train them to do a Homeland Security related job. Do a background check on them and if they fail, they are 4F - if they pass, they serve! The Draft has to be fair this time and the exemptions kept an a minimum. When I was faced with the Draft in the late 1960s, it was far from being fair... This will work!!!
