Although I have never been given the opportunity to particpate in Flex Place, I have been given permission to use Flex Time. I have recently been informed that I will not be allowed Flex Place because the pilot test was not favorable. I was not part of the test. They will allow only one time projects to apply. My job could be done from home a couple of days a week.

Telework/work at home in case of a crisis in this office? LOTS O'LUCK OPM! We have been told that once the A-76 is finalized, there is a STRONG PROBABILITY there won't even be any more flexitime, even though employees in this office once worked at home for 5 years! It seems federal employees lose it all once the A-76 card has been dealt!

After years of hard work and the ongoing education and trust of my very supportive management chain, I have been working a full time FlexiPlace (Telework) assignment for the last 2.5 years. It is both difficult and rewarding.
I have mentioned during daily teleconferenced meetings, that I am the permanent COOP member for our region, and that more positions in the infrastructure and support areas should develop the skills and discipline necessary for at least regular, weekly days on Telework (2-3 days), if not full-time. Thanks for the article.
