Bush has won another important fight on his side. He has convinced people that Iraq is the culprit in the twin towers downing. That is false and King George admitted it. The problem is Osama (long been forgotten) but the King wanted to destroy Iraq and now people are on his side. We are in the wrong place folks, Afghanistan is almost back to where they were before we bombed them and they will do it again. But no fear we will be rooting out those bad guys in another country, completely looking the wrong way again.

We went into Iraq because several thousand US citizens were killed in a terrorist attack. We're still there because we have an administration bent on reshaping the world into "our" way of life, whether the rest of the world wants it or not.

We are still in Iraq because several planes deceided to crash into the World Trade Center buildings killing thousands of people and after viewing that beheading, which was extremely disturbing, I think we should stay their and root out the problem. This has become a worldwide problem so I also think the UN needs to get off their behinds, along with Spain, and help.

The DoD is going to punish the enlisted personnel while they let the officers go untouched.
What about the two star admiral who formed up a group of Seabees in a combat zone so they could see him? End result was two mortar shells fired at the formation and six seabees dead. Shouldn't that admiral be held accountable for doing such a stupid act in a time of war? Where is the chain of command that holds the proper people accountable?

Well, King George has really gotten us in a mess here and no one is really ever going to find out what the hidden motive is/was, oil most likely. I agree with the last poster in that we need to get the heck out of there, and why is it that we always need to be the world cop anyway? Mission accomplished, leave, and please don't vote for that halfwit come Nov.

Can anybody tell me what we are still doing in Iraq?
The mission, as described last year, was to overturn Saddam Hussein and stop his development of WMDs. Regardless of the existence of WMD - Saddam is finished and his regime overthrown. On Thursday, July 1st we need to declare victory, give Iraq back to the Iraqi people, and come home. The UN needs to enter the picture and nation build this country.
As long as we sit there we will be unifying the various groups in their hatred of America and in taking pot shots at us. If we don't disengage as promised on July 1st we will probably be viewed as a colonizing power by practically the entire world.
We can end this pain on July 1st or it will probably be ended for us at some point with a great deal of bloodshed later. I wish this administration had the Texas gumption and bravery to admit a mistake and to rectify a problem that is quickly spinning out of control.
It doesn't matter- Republican or Democrat. America's reputation has been seriously tarnished- it is time to have the moral fortitude to do what is right and to leave the country for the Iraqis to determine their own fate. If they elect a democratic leadership with the help of the UN-great. If they decide to have a civil war that is their business.
Mr. President- it is time to bring our troops home!

The first trial is on a Sargeant (enlisted) and the next one will be on an elisted person. They will all be on enlisted people and the officers who are actually at fault here will get page entries in their records and reassigned. Their promotion to the next higher grade will be delayed one promotion cycle. Then it is back to business as usual.
Three star Generals don't get put on trial, they get promoted for being responsible for this disgrace on our country.

Much like the "leaders" who do not read reports that they commissioned, the CPA is in denial. When ALL of your assumptions are proved wrong what do you do? Whatever one thinks of this misguided death and destruction adventure it now seems time to hold accountable the failures we have leading it. Their arrogance shines brightly for the whole world to behold. I heard today that this is the "new way to think" in today's world by one of their spokeswoman. To me that's an oxymoron. This is what you get when a blind man preaches to a room full of deaf mutes.
