MORE TAXES.......DUH..........Has anyone ever seriously looked at the salaries and benefits paid to all Postal employees? The last I heard a typical mail sorter made $45-52K a year and received free(I SAID FREE) health benefits. Pretty sweet job for a high school grad. If you want a job like this you have to get in line and it helps if you know somebody or the Post Office is needing to fill a quota. Now if that salary is paid to those at the bottom of the chain, how much do you think is being paid to a Post Office manager/supervisor or other top of the chain employees? Most federal employees have to pay at LEAST some of the cost of their health insurance, why not postal employees? This would certainly cut the cost to the tax payer. You do know this is another form of the Government imposing additional tax. Salary costs are just one item of this Postal issue but if all costs were reviewed I think some serious savings could be shown and postal rates and increases would not be a issue. I think our politicians need to look at reducing some costs rather than trying to figure out how to justify more increases. But wait, that would be like trying to reduce taxes. As long as they can justify tax increases they have more money to spend and maybe get another raise or benifit for themselves. Don't count on these elected politicians getting off their rears and trying to cut costs, someone might say "what's good for the goose........"
