I feel safer (and my luggage in more trusted hands) with government employees as airport screeners. If there are "gaps in current system" or "too much regulation", perhaps the solution is to determine and analyze the problems and find solutions for them. During my 20 years as a government employee, I've seen my share of contractors -- and they all have one thing in common...looking out for the best interest of their company! Who can blame them? Not only have I taken a pledge of loyalty, but I'm also looking out for the best interest of the organization that pays my salary too - the Federal Government.

I found the study very revealing. You may want to follow up on a recent survey that was conducted nationwide. All TSA employees where sent this survey and they mailed the finished survey from home. This way there was no chance the results would be tainted. I am sure you will find the results interesting.
