Istook should provide the names so the people can vote based on what their elected representatives are doing! Hiding what they are doing is the first step in establishment of a government against the people and for their own jobs. If these guys are so correct, why are they hiding their voting record? Istook should be dumped because he represents the worst in government!

Gee thanks for the kind words Sen. Fitzgerald. That will really make me feel good while I am waiting in line at the unemployment office after I lose my job because the Thrift Investment Board are playing with people's lives. Why don't you check into why Saul and Amelio are so gung ho about getting rid of the contract at NFC and letting more than 400 people lose their jobs while also impacting the local economy? Hey, Sen. Fitzgerald, how much did the owners of MATCOM, SI Int'l contribute to your PAC?

This is outrageous. I am referring to the 50 Republican lawmakers that refuse to make their position public regarding pay parity. They are cowards, afraid of standing behind their position. If they do not have the backbone to make difficult decisions and stand behind them, they should leave office. Not only are their constituents at a loss to know how these elected officials feel about a given issue, they are demonstrating that they do not have conviction for their position or the courage to stand up for an unpopular position.
They are obviously more concerned with keeping their job than doing their job ... seems to be a popular Republican theme in this election year.

"The savings plan was required to tack on three basis points last year to cover the costs of the failed American Management Systems Inc. computer deal." And the participants had to pay for the out-of-court settlement. They weren't asked to pay for it. TSP management simply went into the accounts and, as I understand it, took monies according to a pro-rated basis of each account. Correct me if I am wrong on that item. Furthermore, the new management has not done much to build trust or confidence with the TSP participants - certainly not with this participant. Over the years, I see Greed rearing its ugly head more and more. If you want people to invest, you need to engender the feeling of confidence, that their investments (monies which is going to provide for livelihoods after retirement) are SAFE and are being ethically managed for the welfare of the investor. A lot of changes are being considered that do not engender warm, fuzzy feelings on the investors' hearts and wallets.

1. Since TSP participants have to pay $36M in the settlement, it appears as if someone on the government side screwed up. Were they held accountable or just let off the hook?
2. As many native Americans from Okla. would say, Rep. Istook speaks with a forked tongue. The word "Republican Lawmakers" and "Restraint in federal spending" are a contradiction in terms especially after they had the largest amount of "Pork" in the last budget.
