Well, I guess this excursion is about oil and money after all, (it isn't a war unless Congress says so, Rummy's boasting aside). We did not get UN approval to invade, instead Rummy and crew thought everyone would jump on the band wagon and help. After telling the world since his election that the US would do everything by themselves, we are getting what we asked for. Now don't blame the other countries if they pull out of Afghanistan now, remember that is the country that started Setp. 11, not Iraq. Iraq is our own dirty war. Afghanistan was the world against the Taliban, now it is the world against US!!! How did that cucumber brain get us into this? No amount of spin will bring our soldiers or their innocent civilians back from the dead. We can only get rid of this administration before they declare a state of emergency in this country, declare marshal law and cancel the next elections.

Yet Turkey and Saudi Arabia, two countries that refused to provide military assistance, are being allowed to participate.
Follow the money.

This is just more proof that the whole reason we invaded Iraq was to enrich certain contractors connected with this Administration. No WMD yet! Our soldiers are dying for Halliburton shareholders. If we were truly concerned about Iraq, we would be looking at all competitors to get the best value for that country's reconstruction. Instead, we're giving out contracts without any competitions to US companies because of their political connections. How corrupt.

Gee! Ya can't tell there's a republician in the White House now can ya?! This ought to really win friends and influence our enemies. Pardon my sarcasm, but why am I reminded of an updated version of the "Three Stooges"? Only here we have Curly, Larry and Schmuck!

Sure does look like a sole-source, non-competition to me, exercising the contract options to those well-connected companies already onsite who are getting billions for doing nothing. Yup, it's a good thing elections are coming up!!!

It has nothing to do with "playing" by our rules. The fact is, if you make a decision not to help in the fight for the Iraqi people's freedom, why should you then be allowed to share in the profits of rebuilding. That's what it's all about, making money. These countries didn't want anything to do with Iraq until making money was involved. Give me a break. If my tax dollars are spent, I want them going to ours and coalition forces that "gave" to the efforts. If those other countries award their own contracts and pay for rebuilding then let them compete, but not for my tax dollars!

Does the US own Iraq? Do we dictate who can take part for profit in the reconstruction...after all, US big business is making huge profits from reconstruction projects. It appears that the current administration is sending the message that if you didn't play by our rules before, you can't have any of the marbles now.
