Return to Article: VA competitive sourcing program derailed by Congress

Anbother sad day for veterans. Who would have thought that Congress, with wounded soldiers returning home every day from Iraq and Afganistan, would continue to put the interests of the VA and federal employees over access to modern technology, quality care and the quantity of avaialble care. I hear the whining and the fear over jobs and just wonder what competitive approaches and competitive technologies - under the VA's supervision - could do to expand care. I resent the veteran groups who define care in terms of the number of VA employees. I resent the employees who define care in terms of jobs instead of available dollars for facilities, equipment, drugs and other support. But most of all, I resent a Congress who places political expediency (union money and votes) over care for the those who have done their duty.

Kudos to Congress for stopping the diversion of funds from veteran's health care to enriching contractors through outsourcing.
These veteran's are the very people who have secured our freedom throughout the years. Now the Bush administration wants to divert their health care money to his rich friends in private industry.
This is a shameful administration indeed.
