Return to Article: White House wins deal to undo job competition revisions

Why should anyone be surprised? The White House wants its way regardless of the cost.
A White House that forces a congressional 15-minute roll call in order to break Republican arms and pass a Medicare bill won't think twice about stopping a conference report to modify language to hurt federal employees.
What is really hurt in all of this is just the small matter of our democracy and the separation of powers built into the constitution. Here is a small "Civics 101" lesson for the drivers at the White House who need their own way at all costs. Congress makes the laws--the executive branch implements the laws. And the final arbiter is the Supreme Court. Once this little rule is broken, America might as well become just a really big banana republic.

The key phrase in this article is "The White House has convinced members of Congress". Why is this so important? Because as far as the White House is concerned, federal employees know exactly what they're up against.
It is the un-named two-faced members of Congress that need to be identified here. Without their support, the only thing the White House could really do is have another temper tantrum.

Why should anyone be surprised. The White House needs its way regardless of the cost.
A White House that forces open a congressional 15 minute roll call to three hours in order to break Republican arms to obtain a Medicare Law won't think twice about stopping a conference report to modify language in a compromise bill to hurt federal employees.
What is really hurt in all of this is just the small matter of our democracy and the separation of powers built into the Constitution. Here is a small civics 101 lesson for the drivers at the White House who need their own way at all costs. Congress makes the laws- the Administration implements the laws. And the final arbiter is the Supreme Court. Once this little rule is broken America might as well become just a really big banana republic.

We on the inside will soon be looking from the outside as this administration keeps making it easier for contractors to come in and take our positions. We have to remember when we vote to forget issues such as the right to bear arms, abortion and other issues that are important to you, and vote to keep our jobs.

It is obvious that the administration and private industry know that they can't balloon the "shadow government" if the feds are on a level playing field. What are they afraid of anyway???

I hope that all of you federal employees who keep voting for the Republicans see what is coming. They will gladly give all of our jobs away to their friends and political contributors. Why do you vote for Congressman Tom Davis in his Va district? Whose interests does he represent?

This administration did it to us again. Anything for big business and their friends, and shaft your loyal employees.
Remember this next November on voting day. ABB
