Of greater concern to me than rules and regulations relative to my privacy, is the administration's push to privatize many of the information handling processes which expose my Social Security number to non-gov't contractor employees. In light of the rampant identity theft going on in this country, we need to keep this kind of personal information in the hands of as few as possible.

I am very concerned about the Federal Employees Privacy Act. Where I work the CAC cards were just instituted. These cards include our Name, Home Address, Blood type, Marital status, phone number, SSN, eye color, height and birth place.
I cannot understand why all this information is required to access a building that has guards at the entrances 24 hours a day and what it has to do with utilizing a computer to perform the duties required?
After talking to the contractor involved with this system I also discovered that all of this information is contained on a database located in the building, which is something that OSD stated is not allowed.
I was told that it is up to the individual activity as to just what must be on these cards and it seems that this building decided that they needed everything about your personal life. Where does the privacy of federal employees begin?
