Return to Article: House restricts job competitions at Park Service, Defense

This makes no sense at all. How do you justify not competing Park Service jobs when you outsource basic Defense operations? I would feel far safer if the Park Service was run by private outfits (as is the case with accommodations) than I do with engineering operations in the Army being contracted to the private sector that then refused to go to support the war on Iraq (the Air Force had to send its engineers to support the Army because the Army's private contractors refused to go!) Now the DOT is contracting guns from Germany - my entire family fought these guys now you want to support their gun factories? I think congress needs to get straight on a few objectives and stop the piece meal application to areas that happen to lobby successfully.
