While the comparison of leaders and managers is certainly one of the most evocative synopses I have read, it seems to postion leaders at Phase 5, as standing above the prior phases where managers perform. Unfortunately, it thus implies that leaders do not operate at the other Phases, which is contrary to my conviction that leaders are needed and do perform at all levels of organizations.
