"Private sector special interests" - I just want to point out that the Thunder Basin organization is a special interest private sector group. Should we not listen to them because of that? The government runs for "private sector special interests!

I think the people who own the national forests should seriously look at this action as a further degradation of our natural resources for the sake of private sector special interests. They might also look at the services being outsourced. From what I have seen of outsourcing in the private sector, it has only led to inefficiency and additional expense without necessary service. The interest of the outside contractor has always taken priority over the interests of the party paying the bill. The trouble with all this is that once you have outsourced and no longer have the facilities or experienced personnel to do the work they once did, you are trapped and a victim of inefficiency and escalating costs. I for one would rather experienced, qualified government employees were the stewards of my land instead of private interests.
