Lots more work is needed! 5/13/03 - I changed my TSP Allocation and received confirmation that the change would be effective 5/31/03. 6/16/03 - TSP board officials said the new TSP system was now online. 6/18-6/20/03 - System wouldn't access my TSP info. 6/22/03 - Finally accessed my info; my allocation still not updated to new allocation. Wrong allocations being sent to wrong funds! Time to call the Thriftline, if it's working and if I can get through! Better luck to you.........

Up and running? What a joke!

I'm afraid this is an example of IT outsourcing. I've seen it myself and I recognize the caliber of work. I've had to clean up after failed efforts enough times. I'm glad my commercial brokers' website works better than this. For an application so simple, this is ridiculous.

"Up and running", well not yet anyway. I wonder if this is an example of what we can expect with IT outsourcing. Almost $100 million dollars and they didn't have sense enough to steal ideas from the Wells Fargo Financial Management site? If this is an example of outsourcing we had better start buying file cabinets and typewriters.

Define "up and running"? I still can't access my account, so the new system doesn't look ready for prime time to me.

At what point will the government stop throwing its money at contractors who don't deliver? In this case, the same people who use similar systems to do the same thing could have been on line ages ago, but we go with "Binky's New and Used Garage Systems," throw a ton of money at them, coddle them along when they screw it up, and accept poor (or worse, useless) results. My question is: are they throwing MY money at it? Sure. Where does the government get its money?

Be calm all you government employees, the definition of "up and running" is; your money is "up" and out of your pockets and "running" for the bank accounts of the contractors. Our government loves the contractors because they do a better job, just listen and you will start hearing all the alibis coming in from the administration. All is well, just be patient, your account will be found, no matter how long it takes. Oh, and by the way, stop whining, right Mr. Chambers. The government takes our money to cover their bad decisions, they think our money is their money. This is just another scam pulled off between the private sector and the administration, nothing will happen to any of the guilty, just the employees who depend on this money for retirement. Can't wait till they start telling us how it is nothing, compared to the GDP.

Account "NO" Access. How many MILLIONS spent between multiple CONTRACTORS? Maybe in-house (civil service) software developers could have done better.

What a complete waste of OUR money. I repeatedly said that the TSP Board was incompetent for the way they handled the prior contractor on this. Now, we have a joke for a system...at least I think we do since I haven't been able to access it, and we paid for it.
Time for a class action lawsuit against the director and board for breach of the fiduciary duty with our money over the last six years. If you take a look at the amount that they spent (and have not yet properly accounted for in the account balances) you may want to watch the papers for an Enron type debacle.
GovExec, don't become a pawn for the board. Report the truth, not their P.R.

The new TSP system has been long on promise and short on delivery. It is a sad commentary when this is what we have waited for over 6 years to receive. I would not consider this a showcase system.

I heard last week that the TSP might be working on Monday. When I tried shortly before noon EST, it gave an error message stating that the TSP was temporarily off line. I tried a few hours later and was able to log on and see what my holdings looked like, as of 16 June. Since then, I know of no one who has been able to access their account. I too am disappointed in the finished product. At least with the old system, you could access a few things when need be. Now the system is worthless. If this is contracting out, we don't need it.

We're cooking with gas now. After noting that the share prices are still not updated nearly 4 hours after market close, I attempted to access my account again. This is (a portion of) what I got:

Welcome to the future of government by contract. After trying to get in all day, I managed to log-on once. After the big build-up I was expecting to see a system comparable to my private sector accounts. What a let down. Yep, the account is expressed as shares. Beyond that, there is no beef. Can't even call up a simple transaction history. We waz robbed. (So what else is new?)

I too have been unable to access my account on the TSP website. I even tried at 2am. Looks like yet another government contractor pulled the wool over our eyes. The system apparently is not ready!!

The system may be up & running, it's a shame nobody can catch up with it. I've been trying for about 16 hours now, and it just times out. I thought we waited an extra six months (on top of the three year delay), to make sure that it could handle capacity issues.

I have been trying to get into my account since yesterday, 6/16/03, with no success. I wonder what the TSP board's definition of "up and running" is?
-
765
I have tried to access my account three times today (June 17 @7:15 a.m.). It has timed-out all three times. I timed my last attempt and after 17 minutes it timed out. This does not meet my definition of "system up and running".

Imagine my excitement at reading that the new TSP record system is up and running at long last. My excitement quickly changed to disgust when I discovered that the system would not let me log on. It is hard to believe that the system is being overwhelmed by the curious at 6:00 am EST. Onward to the portion of the TSP Web site which allows checking of the new share prices without logging on . . . Again, disappointment. Despite claiming to update the share prices by 6:00 pm each business day, the latest prices available are for last Friday.

It may be up but it is not running. Have been trying, periodically, since 5:00 Monday evening to access my account and have been unable to do so. Did not know knew system was "up" until 3:30 Tuesday morning.
