Well George it is a matter of priorities. Should we put more money into super computing or should we put it into Aids research or cancer research. I believe that in order to create a more perfect Union we should increase medical research and not super computing.
Because today everything must be in terms of National security I have to agrue that improvements in cancer research will increase the population and provide more and better people to combat terrorism. This is much more important than super computers that can be hacked easily and confronted with "digital terroism". Boy what a crock!
Let's start saving tax payer money not trying to find new ways to increase federal spending on areas outside the realm of the constitution. Stop increasing government spending on "pure research", close the departments of energy, education, housing, and other areas that should fall under the states, get rid of the SBA, famers home, sugar susidies, other crop subsidies, contributions to the World Bank and IMF, the dept of labor, commerce and transportation other than those involved directly in interstate commerce and use the reductions to reduce taxes on income. The very creation of Homeland security should indicate those areas that are important (may not but should) and the remaining areas should be eliminated. The USA would be far better off if it eliminated these non-justifiable federal government programs, continued to pay the employees until they reach 65 and then retire them, and reduce income taxes by the amount saved in the process.
