Return to Article: FEMA offers first responders instant messaging service

I am a first responder (FireFighter/HazMatTech) in the Deep Piney Woods of Texas, as well as a Red Cross Volunteer. DisasterHelp.gov, along with Disaster Management Interoperability Services (DMIS.org) are two invaluable tools we will be using. Also -- they are free. For emergency management and fire departments such as ours (our budgets are what we raise from bake sales, etc.), the price can't be beat. Plus, these programs work in areas where our radios won't --hook up to a cell phone and power booster and operate in real-time. Thanks for the article!!
