Return to Article: Asset assessment

The subject article is very timely and drives home the most important part of the enterprise performance triad. What I mean here is that there are three key elements critical to any enterprise, government or private. They are people, money and things (property and systems, etc). The latter area deals with critical assets and certainly how well these things are managed will determine where the enterprise finds themselves in the future. Sound management of assets is an important practice that leads to efficiencies and success. It is an effective way to corral and focus on the efficient and effective control of limited resources needed to get the job done.
It is important to optimize the performance related to property matters. Failure to do so almost always severely impacts the other two elements, often in a very big way.
