I think what you've misunderstood, Mr. Cleary, is that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. It was a secular government with no ties to Al Qaeda until we stepped in.

What's the big deal? Who's Mr. Brown in the big scheme of things? Or the little scheme of things? Let him resign, take his bat and ball and go home!! I'm a career, US Army, 25+ year civilian employee. I support President Bush fully in the matter of war with Iraq. Do I want war? No. But I didn't want what happened on 9/11 either. If there's a war to be fought, let's fight it in their sandbox, in lieu of our backyards. So Mr. Brown's concerned about upsetting some of our allies? The French haven't hade a military presence in NATO in more than 30 years. The German chancellor ran on an anti-American platform. Hello, Mr. Brown? The only time in the past 65 years that the French and the Germans have been friends of the U.S. is when they need us. Nothing lasts forever. They want to go on without our help, that's THEIR choice. We should not set national security policy based on how our "friends" will react. Israel certainly does not, as it institutes security policies that the U.S. has problems with, yet we remain allies. The resignations of Mr. Brown and others because of their views on Iraq shouldn't be even a blip on anyone's radar screen.
