I want to know, that if I'm rehired as a reinstatement eligible, after not being a federal employee for 20 years, how long will I have to stay in my new position before I can transfer at the same grade or higher.. of course competitively. I was a GS-12/4 in 1990 I have been hired back as a GS-11/10, but I will have to move 3000 miles to accept this position, I will want to continue to compete and hopefully be hired for another position closer to my home.. Can this happen immediately, if i'm selected for another position elsewhere a month or two later within DCMA ????
