When a person pays into Soc. Sec. in good faith it is my opinion that he or she should get the benefits that they are entitled to. My husband worked for the City of Chicago for 37 years and paid into a pension and he also worked in the private sector and put in his full quarters in SS thinking SS would help offset any cost of e living increase in our senior years. The economy such as it is can be very difficult to live with and having his SS benefits reduced seems criminal to me. I would hope that Senator Durbin of Illinois and all of the other Senators would vote to have these benefits reinstated to these government employees who have been cheated thanks to Mr. Rostenkowski and others who voted for the bill reducing benefits to government employees, but not themselves. Fair is Fair and what is good enough for one government employee, be he a Congressman or a City of Chicago Streets and Sanitation worker should be the same.

Fair is fair!!! Refund the ss taxes to the government employees who are being ripped off by SSA. Alternatively, refund ss taxes paid... with interest.
