Green Government

Aug. 1
The August issue of our print magazine is devoted to the government's ambitious -- and often unheralded -- efforts to go green. In this online supplement to the issue, we take you inside some of those initiatives with a photo tour of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite operations facility in Maryland that is so green its rooftop blends right into the hillside, and an interactive map of federal facilities that are models of energy efficiency. We also give you a chance to test your knowledge of renewable energy sources and to learn more about award-winning environmental projects. Should you be inspired by what you see, you might be interested in our list of additional online resources.

  • We don't need global warming as an excuse to stop burning through our fossil fuel resources like there's no tomorrow and trashing the planet in general....who cares whether it's real or not, let's do what makes sense.
  • ...and the world is flat and fairies leave money under pillows for teeth. At least that’s what deniers of global warming would have us believe. To use 200 fringe scientists as a basis for legitimacy, while ignoring the thousands of scientists internationally who agree that global warming is real and humans are the probable cause, is ridiculous.
  • Global warming is a farce. It does not exist as a problem. What mankind does has no effect on Global temperatures. Over 200 nationally known scientists have spoken out against the misinformation regarding this. There is no proof that mankind has any effect on global warming. It is a natural cyclical happening and is not anything to worry about much less spend millions on. Please have the advocates submit their proof if you think it is a problem. You will find they have no scientific proof. It is incredible to me that so many people including your magazine accept this without any proof.
