From announcing increased energy efficiency as one of the defining principles of the economic recovery effort to issuing an executive order with detailed environmental mandates for agencies, President Obama has made his commitment to green government clear. According to the latest study completed by the Government Business Council, Federal managers acknowledge this trend, saying the importance of green government has increased in the last year.

Almost 70 percent of respondents say green government initiatives have gained importance. Only 1 percent says they are less important today than they were a year ago.
