Army sees possible race bias in promotions
The Army has reported that the promotion rate to colonel for white officers this year was about double that of blacks. A Pentagon spokesman said the Defense Department has ordered a review of the files of individuals considered for promotion, "to see if there were any differences in their assignments, their training, their mentoring ... that could explain this difference."
